Your specialists for functional diagnostics in Berlin Mitte
For highly precise recording of all movements of the lower jaw, we rely on the innovative technology of a Bavarian company that specializes in the development and production of biomechanical measuring systems.
The JMA system from Zebris consists of a facebow with integrated receiver modules and a sensor. This sends out ultrasound pulses and measures their travel time. All movements are recorded without contact. Computer software calculates extensive functional parameters from this and precisely determines the neuromuscular centric position of the lower jaw.
Functional diagnostics therapy
As an effective means of treating CMD (craniomandibular dysfunction), individually made occlusal splints are used, which take into account the position of the lower jaw as well as movements of the chewing muscles and jaw joint.
Since the position of the lower jaw changes during treatment, the occlusal splint with ground chewing surface must be checked regularly and adjusted if necessary.
The dentist checks the tooth contacts, the adjusted jaw position and the healing process. The treatment usually lasts at least 2 to 3 months.
