Dental implants are artificially manufactured components that are anchored directly in toothless sections of the jaw or can be used to restore the teeth.
A dental implant usually consists of three different components: the cylindrical or screw-shaped implant body anchored in the jawbone, the neck part and the crown attached to it.
To ensure that the artificial tooth root made of high-purity titanium is not rejected by your jawbone but is accepted and can grow together as intended, our material is biocompatible and tissue-compatible. Allergic reactions are not known. The practice of dentists at Nordbahnhof only uses Camlog implants.
How does the insertion of a dental implant work?
Implant therapy is your high-quality, safe, comfortable treatment. Before the actual procedure, a complete medical history is taken, including X-rays and tomography. Your dental implant is then inserted into the jaw in two steps.
The implant is intended to replace the natural tooth root as an artificial, fixed pillar. Your dentures can be attached to it – whether fixed or removable.
Dental prostheses, crowns, bridges and implant accessories are manufactured using technological tools. Design and production are carried out using intelligent software programs, the big advantage being that automatic production using computer scanning is much more precise.
1. Insertion of the implant with drilling template
We will screw your final implant in as an abutment tooth using a drilling template. Drilling templates help to insert dental implants into the upper or lower jawbone with particular precision. It takes around three months for an implant to grow together with the surrounding jawbone to form a solid and resilient support unit.
2. Use of the temporary solution
During this healing phase, a temporary restoration can be placed on the implants. This avoids unwanted overloading, for example of the back teeth when chewing. If an implant is placed and then a temporary restoration is fitted and loaded one or two days later, this is referred to as immediate loading or immediate loading.
How expensive are dentures and dental implants?
After an intensive initial examination by our dentists, our team of qualified dental consultants will discuss the next treatment steps and their costs with you based on your diagnosis.
The costs depend on the effort required for preparation, production in the laboratory, the cost of the titanium implant we use and the degree of difficulty of the surgical procedure.
All progress is transmitted digitally so that the dental laboratory and our medical team are always aware of your results and can support you until your treatment is completed.
What proportion is covered for patients with statutory insurance?
If you are legally insured, your health insurance company is obliged to reimburse part of the costs for your dentures – as part of what is known as standard care or standard benefits.
A dental bridge or a full denture would be subsidized by statutory health insurance companies at a rate of 50%. As of October 1, 2020, the fixed subsidy will be increased to 60% by law as part of the Appointment Service and Care Act.
If you keep the bonus booklet issued by your health insurance company regularly and without gaps, which we strongly recommend, you can already expect 60-75%. If you are in a hardship case, a double subsidy would be possible.
A full bonus booklet that you have kept for 5 years guarantees you a higher fixed subsidy from your health insurance company, depending on your dental situation and planned dental prosthesis provision, up to 75% of the average cost of standard care/standard therapy.
