Why do you need regular prophylaxis?
When it comes to your long-term dental health, do your best with a good toothbrush – whether manual or electric – and dental floss.
But when it comes to dental care, even the best is not good enough. Despite all the tools available to you at home, you will not be able to reach a third of your tooth surfaces without special tools.
Plaque remains in the mouth, which, due to smoking, coffee, wine or tea, discolors the tooth enamel and also impairs the appearance of your teeth.
Last but not least, fine bacterial deposits in the spaces between your teeth can lead to unpleasant consequences such as tooth decay or periodontitis, i.e. inflammation of your gums.
We are therefore happy to provide you with a professional dental cleaning (PZR) twice a year.
How does professional teeth cleaning work?
Tartar and hard or soft bacterial deposits are immediately removed using the most modern methods, and the surfaces and spaces between your teeth are cleaned with our special dental instruments.
First, our staff, who are experienced in prophylaxis, will take an inventory of your current oral hygiene.
By coloring your teeth, areas affected by plaque will be made visible.
This has an important side effect for you: you can see for yourself where you should clean better at home in the future.
Our colleagues will be happy to advise you on this.
Our staff will also conduct a detailed medical history to assess the potential risk of, for example, infection or damage to your dental implants.
Both gums and teeth are gently and intensively freed of deposits. Hard plaque such as tartar is removed, as well as soft plaque from the spaces between teeth and the gum edges.
We use interdental brushes, dental instruments, curettes and scalers, among other things. Even stubborn deposits can be tackled using EMS powder jet and ultrasound devices.
Coordinated polishing pastes ensure a fresh, clean feeling in the mouth. New bacterial deposits, also known as plaque, are also reduced prophylactically.
Fluoridation using our special gel also hardens your tooth enamel, which in turn provides you with optimal prevention against tooth decay.
This makes your teeth less sensitive to acid, cold or heat. The sealing with highly concentrated fluoride also protects sensitive areas such as exposed tooth necks.
Why prophylaxis especially for pregnant women?
It is particularly recommended for pregnant women to undergo regular prophylaxis.
The reason: If there is inflammation in the mouth, the blood transports it throughout the body.
This can have serious consequences for mother and child and, in the worst case, even lead to miscarriage.
