The dental functional analysis examines the position of the jaw joints in relation to each other and their effects on the patient's body. If the latter is disturbed, it is assumed that there is a craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD for short).
The incorrect interaction of the upper and lower jaw can have several causes.
Some of them are:
-Incorrect orthodontic treatment.-Ill-fitting or defective dentures.
- Teeth grinding, affected patients press their teeth together due to excessive pressure, which leads to increased abrasion of the teeth.
-Functional disorders of the spine or pelvis, which also have an influence on the position of the teeth and jaw joints.
-Stress
Symptoms:
As already described, a CMD can manifest itself in very different ways, for example through:
-Tension headaches, migraines
-Shoulder, neck and back pain
-Cracking, rubbing or pain in jaw joints
-Pain when chewing
-Mouth can only be opened to a limited extent
-Ear pain, tinnitus, popping in the ear
-Dizziness
- Visual disturbances, eye flickering, double vision
-Increased sensitivity to light
Diagnosis:
In our practice, we use, among other things, the clinical and instrumental examination procedure ZEBRIS (click here to find out more) for the diagnosis.
We would love to get to know you today. We would therefore be happy if you simply contact us without obligation. We place more value on a personal impression of each other than on detailed application documents - preferably over a cup of coffee.
So get started: Send us an email with your phone number or simply a message using our contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. You can submit application documents later if we get the same good gut feeling and want to follow up with a second interview. We look forward to seeing you...
